About The Instructor
Born in Plymouth, England on a beautiful day a few years ago, and raised in north Toronto, Peter is has been living and working on an idyllic 4-acre wooded property in rural Grey County for the past thirty-some years. The area, in the heart of Niagara Escarpment country, has a wealth of beautiful landscapes.
The creative process has been strong from the time he could first hold a crayon. He attended C.W. Jeffries in North York, a high school with a dedicated arts program, followed by four years post secondary schooling at the Ontario College of Art, now OCAD U.
Like some famous Canadian painters you may have heard of, he worked in the commercial art field, raising a family and paying the bills, while developing and exploring my craft. He is an avid painter working mostly in acrylics although on occasion works in oils, watercolour and cold wax (similar to encaustics). His paintings are in a number of galleries in Ontario and Nova Scotia and he can be found on the internet by googling my name - or 'good looking guys'.
Peter runs Studio Twenty, where artists come to paint and has authored three books on how to paint in acrylics, and has produced many videos. His partner Bonnie Gardiner is also a painter which makes life a little easier, as being a visual artist becomes a way of life - even when you're not painting you are thinking about painting, or photographing images for your next project, or doing the business side of the art.

MOVING SKIES AND RUSHING WATER is for artists with some painting experience and will immerse you in Peter's incredible depth of knowledge in the acrylic medium. Peter's wit and fun approach and his interesting methods for paint application will inspire you and push you out of your comfort zone. The focus of this workshop will be to explore movement in the landscape using different painting methods while developing our own design, conception and execution as it relates to our personal technique. Peter will share his processes through lectures and demos. Individual instruction and excellent critique will be included to help us expand and grow as artists.
