Workshop Description
Trees and rocks, water and sky, mountains and snow, these elements, combined with distinctive painting methods and an audacious style, have characterized the paintings of well-known Canadian artist David Langevin. Join us for this Zoom workshop with David to learn everything you need to know to master acrylic painting.
This workshop is designed for artists with some painting experience in acrylic or oils, or even watercolor. This workshop will focus on learning the specific properties of acrylics and how you can use them to achieve fantastic results, which can be challenging because the physical and chemical properties of synthetic acrylic paints are unique. Emphasis will be on mastering the materials and skills to help us be better painters. We will learn to master the medium and effectively apply glazes, veils, and impasto layers of paint.
Come prepared to take notes, ask questions, and to paint along with David. The workshop includes demos and lectures, and the Zoom sessions will be recorded and available to us for one month following each session.
The workshops runs three Sundays in January 2024, being January 14, 21, and 28. Each session will begin at 10 am Mountain Time. We will meet together for two hours, then have a break for an hour, and the continue with the workshop for another two hours.
