MIKE SVOB
MIKE SVOB, BA, SFCA is the author of the popular book called "Paint Red Hot Landscapes that Sell" and his book is as "red hot" as his paintings. He is a signature member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and has been a full-time artist since 1982. This 20-year career has allowed Mike to master all mediums. DYNAMIC COLOUR in OIL/ACRYLIC will provide the basic knowledge required to give us the confidence to proceed in either medium. Mike uses basically the same process to paint in either the luscious medium of oil or the versatile medium of acrylic. This workshop is for all artists with some painting experience in any medium. Mike will share his extensive knowledge and practical applications on composition and design, as well as techniques that allow his students to explore and learn themselves. He is very knowlegable about products and he will suggest a different approach to applying paint each day, which students may try if they wish.
In his paintings, Mike uses a very distinctive use of colour which draws the viewer into his work, and he will share all of his secrets about colour and products in this workshop. Demos, individual counselling and critiques will be included to help students to find their "artistic muse" and to help break the "artist's block", which all painters encounter. Mike is an excellent teacher and he has taught in Calgary for Leading Edge several times. He also teaches regularly for the Federation of Canadian Artists in Vancouver.
