MIKE SVOB, BA, SFCA, is a Master landscape painter and the author of the popular book “Paint Red Hot Landscapes That Sell”, which showcases his colorful, dynamic work. He is a senior signature member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and has been a full-time painter since 1982. This 30-year career has allowed Mike to master all mediums. He brings his years of experience to his workshops and strongly believes that sharing his knowledge among fellow artists and students provides only positive results for all. He shares his secrets, his philosophy of art, and his experience of sales, along with his wonderful humour. We can expect to learn, stretch and grow in this workshop.VALUE AND COLOR IN OIL/ACRYLIC is for artists with painting experience and will advance our understanding of acrylic and oil techniques and ideas. Mike uses basically the same process to paint in either the luscious medium of oil or the versatile medium of acrylic. The focus of this workshop will be to explore different painting methods while developing our own design, conception and execution as it relates to our personal technique. In his paintings, Mike uses value and color very distinctively which draws the viewer into his work and he will share his secrets about value and color as well as the large selection of products available to the artist. Demos, individual counseling and an excellent group critique will be included to help us to expand and grow as artists.

Please bring your own reference material of photos and/or sketches. Mike will demo from and share his large collection of photos. He may do demos of landscape, floral, portrait/figure, and/or still life.
