JACQUELINE SULLIVAN
JACQUELINE SULLIVAN has a degree in graphic design and has worked for many years as an advertising and publication designer. She has also studied Calligraphy and Lettering Arts with many world-renowned instructors. She is the author of the DVD “Acrylics: Texutres, Layers and Metallics” and her work has been published in Somerset Studio and Cloth, Paper and Scissors magaines. A master of mixed media and acrylic painting she is known for venturing into the unknown and creating new techniques which she shares with her students. Web: www.jacquelinesullivan.com.ACRYLICS: TEXTURES, LAYERS AND METALLICS is for all levels of experience and those interested in the unlimited possibilities of collage—creating richly textured paintings. This workshop will focus on building a painting, layer by layer, beginning with thin glazes of acrylics, then adding layers of tissue paper, cheesecloth, aluminum, and other household items. We will learn how to use many different acrylic mediums to achieve interest and richness of texture and how to successfully incorporate photos, photocopies and text into our textured work, while keeping the emphasis on good design. Metallic foils and paints may be added to highlight textured areas of the painting.
Each student will receive a coil bound book with instructions and color photos of the various techniques covered, which is included in the fee. This workshop includes demos, lectures, and individual assistance.
