BRENT LAYCOCK
BRENT LAYCOCK, RCA, CSPWC, ASA is a signature member of several Canadian art societies. The author of "Waterton - Brush and Pen", and the DVD “Understanding Acrylics”, Brent has been painting with acrylics for four decades and has participated in many solo and group shows internationally. He works in a fluid, spontaneous style applying the paint in bold direct strokes, communicating an emotional response which is more important than detailed representation.UNLOCKING THE POWER OF ACRYLIC is for beginner acrylic painters with experience in other mediums as well as those who are more experienced with acrylics. Brent will share his paints during this workshop to allow us to avoid the cost of buying before we try. He will share his ideas and techniques behind his successful paintings, with practical demonstrations and exercises to show how to make the most of this versatile medium's unique properties. We will cover basic acrylic techniques with washes, transparencies, opaques, using acrylic like watercolor, tube and fluid acrylics, as well as mediums and gels. Brent will demonstrate how he uses a combination of all of these applications to create a dynamic, colorful masterpiece.
This workshop includes a slide show of Brent's work, demos of landscapes and florals, and individual assistance.
