DAVID LANGEVIN, B.F.A., M.ED. After receiving his BFA, a restless desire to perfect his skills led David to continue
his studies and research at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the Canadian Conservation Institute and McGill University.
After several years of teaching art, David became a full-time painter in 1994 and he now lectures and teaches workshops.
He has gained recognition for his dynamic and original landscapes and "treescapes". He has a profound knowledge of
materials and techniques combined with a brilliant sense of design and drama.

MASTERING ACRYLICS is for artists of all levels of experience in any medium who want to learn to master acrylic painting.
Acrylic paints are relatively new and how to use them effectively is still a challenge to many artists. Techniques that
are successful when using oils or watercolors do not often yeild good results when applied to acrylic paints because the
physical and chemical properties of the synthetic acrylics are unique. In this workshop the focus will be on learning
the specific properties of acrylics and how we can use them to achieve fantastic results. David says he likes to teach
what he wished he could have learned when he was first working with this medium.
In this workshop David will share his wide knowledge and experience of the acrylic medium, followed by a
demo, and we will have time to paint with his help.
Please bring your own reference material of photos and/or sketches or David is fine with students copying one of his
paintings for the learning experience.
This workshop will be held at the Ramsay Community Centre, 1136 - 8 Street SE, in Calgary .
