General Information - Getting There

Leading Edge Art Workshops listed in Calgary will be held at the Ramsay Community Centre, located at 1136 - 8 Street SE. The hall has just been newly renovated, and has large windows, good lighting and lots of free parking. A location map will be included with your info package after you register. If you require accomodation information for the area, please contact Louise at louise.hall@shaw.ca.

Winnipeg workshops are held at the Kartum Shriners Centre centrally located at the Elmwood-East Kildonan Active Living Centre at 180 Poplar Avenue. For workshops the Centre has a large room that will be secured overnight. Parking will be on the street and Judy will have help available to help students with carrying supplies and equipment into the building, on the first morning and the afternoon of the last day. The Centre contains a kitchen and there are two restaurants close by. For help with accomodation information for Winnipeg, please call Judy Sutton at 204 663 9063.

In Edmonton, workshops will be held at the A.J. Ottewell Centre located at 590 Broadmoor Blvd. in Sherwood Park, Alberta. This is a new facility with lots of on-site parking, large windows and lots of light. It contains a kitchen and is handicapped accessible. For accomodation information or other information please call Tessa Stanley at 780 435 9445.

All classes in all locations will begin promptly at 9:30am and run until 4:30pm with a one-hour break for lunch. Coffee, tea and snacks will be provided and you are responsible for your own lunch. You may bring your own lunch. Information regarding restaurants for lunch will be made available at the workshop.

Please wear or bring layers of clothing, the temperature can vary both in the workshop buildings as well as in all prairie locations. Local art stores are available and will carry all the supplies that are required. A map and a workshop supply list will be sent to you 30 days before the beginning of the workshop.
