GAYE ADAMS
GAYE ADAMS, SFCA, MPAC, is a senior signature member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, and one of only six artists to receive a Master Pastellist designation from the Pastel Artists of Canada. Her work has garnered awards at the national and international levels, and has appeared often in International Artist Magazine and Pastel Artist International. She has been a working painter for over 20 years and is in demand as a workshop instructor. Starting first as a pastellist and then incorporating acrylics into her artistic vision, her work is earmarked by her love of color and light. LIGHT AND COLOR IN ACRYLICS is for artists of all levels. Beginners are welcome and the basics will be covered, and students with more experience will be instructed at their own skill level. Gaye will share her approach to acrylics which is to develop rich transparent darks and strong light, using good strong compositional elements. She will also focus on the versatility and the properties of this unique medium, including transparents, opaques, glazes, gels and mediums. The workshop will include a demo at the beginning of each session, and then individual instruction as students develop their paintings in a friendly, informative, relaxed atmosphere.
Please bring your own reference material of photos and/or sketches.
This workshop will be held at the Ramsay Community Centre, 1136 - 8 Street SE, in Calgary .
