About The Instructor
International mixed media artist Jani Galarneau is known for her infectious energy and passion for creating. Her modus operandi is vibrant colors with a whimsical style and textures that not only draws the eye, but also makes you want to experience the art by touch. Jani brings her unique style together with many found objects as her passion for recycling and upcycling is key to her work. Currently she is teaching in the United States alongside Disney Legendary Imagineer, Terri Hardin Jackson. You can find her work at art galleries across Canada and at the Royal Alberta Museum. Jani is a certified Arts and Crafts Rehabilitation teacher, and she has been painting forever and teaching for the past 7 years. She is very knowledgeable about mixed media painting and teaching with Zoom, and she is looking forward to sharing all of her secrets with us. |

Online Workshop Description
FUN WITH MIXED MEDIA
February 5-7, 2021 at 9:00 - Noon or 1:00 Mountain Time, by Zoom.
Following an introduction to us by Jani and an overview of the workshop, we will discuss all the different varieties of mixed media materials - pens, paints, gels, collage - and why use these in our art work. We will talk about composition and color and then get to work prepping our supports and painting. Day 2 is a Fun day!! we decide on what we want to paint on our supports, and discuss why sometimes not having an exact plan can be the route to go. We will work on our pieces and ask questions with Jani's guidance.
On Day 3 we can add to our pieces and then finish up. Jani will demo how to apply resin to finish our work, all the do's and don't's of this process. And she will answer any and all questions as well.
