Artist Statement:
Art, for me, is a personal journey.
I feel compelled to paint interesting shadows, great landscapes, unusual flowers, and ordinary objects. Jewel tones, brilliant color, interesting textures and a "bit of the unusual" excite me.
I have heard artists say, "let the painter get out of the way and just let the painting happen". I believe that the painting will speak to me and help me to bring it to a finished piece.
I especially enjoy the challenge of interpretation of the subject, freedom of expression and opportunity to convey that to my viewers.
