Workshop Description
PAINT THE PORTRAIT from a photo is for artists with some experience in oil or acrylic. This workshop is for you if you have an interest in experiencing the “joy” of putting brush marks on canvas—without laboring over drawing and measuring. We will learn to tell a story in distinctive brushwork, edges and brave paint application, as we focus on putting our lovely model into “space” on our canvas. Bobbi’s philosophy is to “keep-ideas-simple” while making a bold statement. She will share knowledge from her extensive professional artist’s tool-box as you’re guided to discover possibilites which will take your work to a new level. We will walk the steps of creating our visual concept through small studies, then joyfully apply paint to canvas to realize our idea in a larger format. All the elements of a strong painting will be emphasized; from creating a concept, to abstract design, shape, value, edges, color, paint quality and more. Includes demos and lots of individual guidance.
